White House Decries 'Democratic Hoax' as More Epstein Estate Photos Released
House Democrats have made public a fresh batch of what they termed "disturbing" photographs from the estate of adjudicated sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, featuring notably Donald Trump, Bill Clinton, and former British royal Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
The initial drop of 19 images—some of which have been previously circulated—plus another 70 issued later on Friday represent a tiny fraction of the approximately 100,000 images handed over to the House investigative panel, which is probing the conduct and connections of Epstein.
The disgraced financier died by apparent suicide in a New York prison cell in 2019 after being indicted on sex-trafficking offenses.
Notable Figures in the Photos
Included in the notable figures visible in the opening set are celebrities featuring film director Woody Allen; Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates; and Richard Branson, originator of the Virgin empire.
Donald Trump is pictured in three of the initial 19 images. In one, he is photographed with six women, whose faces are redacted.
White House Response
The White House addressed the release in a statement, accusing Democrats of purposefully "hand-picking" the photographs for political purposes and to "seek to establish a false account."
"That partisan falsehood against President Trump has been time and again refuted," a White House spokesperson stated, maintaining that "the current government has accomplished more for Epstein's survivors than Democrats ever have by repeatedly calling for openness, disclosing thousands of pages of records, and demanding additional probes into Epstein's Democrat friends."
Democratic Lawmaker Statement
The photographs were published without context, but per a Democratic representative from California and ranking member of the investigative panel, they prompt further inquiries about Epstein's associations with wealthy individuals.
"The moment has come to stop this White House concealment and secure justice to the survivors of Jeffrey Epstein and his powerful friends," he declared in a statement.
The release of these documents coincides with the oversight committee pressing on with its investigation into the affair.
