Two Men Face Charges Regarding Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Incident
Two men have been charged following a suitcase robbery where a suspected irritant spray resulted in harm at London's Heathrow Airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two robbery charges and charges for deploying a toxic agent, according to official statements.
The charges follow an investigation into an assault at the parking structure at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the attack, two female travelers had their suitcases taken after getting out of a car park lift, according to law enforcement.
A toddler was caught up in the incident during the incident. Five people required hospital care and were subsequently released.
The incident – described by police as was isolated and deemed non-terroristic – led to disruptions to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport road tunnel and the T3 parking area for a limited duration.
