Kansas City Chiefs State They Are Aware of Alleged Abuse Allegations Involving Wide Receiver Rashee Rice
The NFL franchise released a comment Wednesday night indicating they have knowledge of domestic violence allegations made public in social media posts by a ex-partner of player Rashee Rice and had been in communication with the NFL.
The organization did not mention the player specifically in their statement and noted they would have “no further comment at this time”.

The woman, who also did not mention the athlete by name, shared a series of photos on Instagram that appeared to show indicators of bodily harm. She did say the person involved was the parent of her kids, and reports indicate she has kids with Rice, whom the Chiefs selected in the 2023 draft.
Police Reports Reportedly Unavailable
No police reports were available in Overland Park, Kansas where the alleged abuse is said to have taken place.
Player's Prior Off-Field Troubles
Rice missed the initial part of this NFL campaign due to an NFL suspension for his role in causing a crash on a Texas roadway that resulted in multiple people injured. He was sentenced a month of incarceration and five years’ probation after pleading guilty to felony charges.
Statistically, he concluded the season with 53 receptions for 571 receiving yards and five touchdowns as the Chiefs finished 6-11 and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first time in a decade.
