Homages Continue for the Reiners as Autopsy Reports Face a Security Hold.

More than two weeks subsequent to the heartbreaking passing of celebrated film director Rob Reiner and his partner, photographer Michele Reiner, peers and loved ones are still paying respects to the duo.

Quoting a Classic: Cary Elwes Remembers His Director

Sharing on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who starred in Reiner's 1987 classic *The Princess Bride*, mentioned he finally felt prepared to post publicly about his personal sorrow.

"Sufficient time has elapsed that I can at last put my grief into words," shared Elwes, noting that his first meeting with Reiner created an instant bond. "As we began spending more time together I understood this was someone I desired in my life."

The actor posted behind-the-scenes footage from the production, adding that he cannot recall "any day without mirth".

"The movie is about affection, allegiance and giving. Values that Rob cherished deeply. This is one of the many reasons he was the perfect person to helm it," Elwes wrote.

He also paid tribute Michele Reiner, stating: "Asserting that they were a incredible duo would be an oversimplification. My heart still aches every time I remember you." He ended with a phrase from *The Princess Bride*: "Indeed, death cannot stop true love but life is pain without you."

Martin Scorsese Remembers a Colleague and Comrade

In a separate tribute, legendary director Martin Scorsese also honored Reiner, whom he originally knew in the 1970s.

"From the start, I loved being with Rob. We had a natural affinity for each other. He was uproarious and sometimes acutely humorous, but he was never the kind of guy who would command the room," Scorsese wrote.

Scorsese mentioned Reiner's supporting role in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, playing the father of the main character.

"He was skilled at improv with the best. He was a expert at comedy, he worked wonderfully with the cast, and he comprehended the personal struggle of his character," Scorsese wrote.

Judicial Actions: Autopsy Reports Withheld

Recently, a Los Angeles superior court judge ruled to block the publication of the Reiners' autopsy reports, after an appeal from the Los Angeles Police Department.

A legal directive put a embargo on the investigation to prohibit the public release of "related notes, notes, reports or photos" pertaining to the ongoing investigation.

The coroner's office had already determined their deaths were the outcome of murder, with a official listing noting the cause as "injuries from a sharp object".

Fallout and Commentary

After the deaths, public personalities offered divergent reactions.

Ex-President Donald Trump wrote on the matter, making controversial statements that were widely condemned by several public figures.

Podcaster Joe Rogan added his criticism to the detractors recently. Conversing on his podcast, Rogan characterized the remarks as "shocking" and remarked they showed a worrisome deficiency of sympathy.

Rogan ended by proposing that an adviser should have stepped in when the choice to speak on the death was made.
