David Walliams parted ways with longtime publisher.
Prolific children's author and entertainer David Walliams has parted ways with his longtime publishing house, according to an announcement.
A representative for the publisher stated: "Following a thorough review, and under the leadership of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing future works by David Walliams."
It has been reported that the decision was taken subsequent to an inquiry regarding claims about questionable actions towards female individuals.
The publisher declined to specify the specific rationale behind the move, adding: "It is not our policy to discuss internal matters."
An Illustrious Writing Journey
Walliams is one of the UK's most best-selling authors for kids, with sales exceeding in excess of 60 million copies worldwide in dozens of tongues.
His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins in 2008.
A number of his titles, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into small-screen adaptations.
His bibliography includes over four dozen titles altogether, encompassing a Christmas book named *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins last autumn.
A Dual Career
His initial claim to fame came on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He received an OBE back in 2017 in recognition of his work for the charitable sector and arts community.
This development follows the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive in October.
