Barcelona to Host First Match at Upgraded Camp Nou this Saturday
Barça revealed their first game will take place at the still-under-construction Camp Nou on Saturday. The club will host the Bilbao team in the Spanish league 30 months since relocating so building work could begin.
“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Not all seats will be available though over 45,000 attendees are permitted inside as per the current authorization. Once fully finished, it will accommodate over 104,000 attendees, a rise from the old capacity. Officials confirmed finished work included an updated entryway for the team plus modern locker rooms.
Preparatory Events
Barça organized a fan-accessible workout at the Camp Nou earlier this month. They mentioned they are seeking authorization from European football’s governing body to play their next home Champions League game facing Eintracht on 9 December in the renovated venue. Their recent games have been held in the temporary ground.
