An aircraft carrying Pete Hegseth was compelled to make an unplanned landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday due to a fissure was found in the plane's windshield, according to an official statement which stated that all passengers were secure.
"The jet landed in accordance with established safety measures and everyone onboard, such as Defense Secretary Hegseth, is safe," a press officer said in a online announcement.
The secretary was coming back from a short visit to Brussels at the time.
This occurrence isn't the first time that a American defense plane carrying a high-ranking official has experienced technical problems.
Earlier this year, a US Air Force plane carrying the US Secretary of State to the German city of Munich was forced to return to Washington after suffering a mechanical fault.
